ROCKRIDGE WALK
What you need to know.
Bringing the right gear.
The right gear will make all the difference to your experience. We will take care of your luggage, getting it from A to B and back to A. What you wear each day is important. We suggest you stick to our gear list below to take out the stress and worry of what to bring!
Cotton isn’t a hiker’s friend as it’s heavy when it gets wet. We recommend merino wool or moisture-wicking clothing. Drying options are available but limited.

The Climate
Windwhistle is a unique and wild place; its climate can change in a flash. The well-known and captivating Norwest can be energy charging. The sharp bite of a southerly can take your breath away. And then you can wake to stillness, so quiet you can hear a pin drop. The winters and summers can be harsh in polarising ways, majestic and out of this world. Snow in spring, sunburn in June.
The climate is what it is… stunningly unique and awe-inspiring. We must understand Mother Nature is in charge and be ready for every eventuality.
This is what makes our piece of paradise so magical.
Safety
Our intrepid guests will be notified of the weather, safety procedures, and any hazards or things to watch out for each evening. Your safety comes first, and we take this very seriously. We arm your group with a radio for the duration of the hike.
